A story behind the scene ... how I started building my site

My name is Tatie, originally from Surabaya, the second biggest town in Indonesia before I moved to Slovenia in 2007. Here, I started working with internet, creating a blog and building a website. And tasty-indonesian-food.com is my third website.

Being an Indonesian living abroad, one thing that always comes as an issue is the food. I never got used to western meals. For me, something is missing. Yes, the chillies!!! I can't live without them!! Indonesian food is known as spicy, yet delicious and rich of herbs and spices.

I always love cooking, but I never really did it when I lived in my homeland. My mother always cooked for the family. Then the time is come when I had to move to Slovenia. Here I have to do everything by myself, including cooking. For a starter, I had problems finding ingredients to make Indonesian food since there are no Asian shops in Slovenia. Fortunately, by the time, I found them piece by piece in some local supermarket. My friends who lived in other countries also kindly sent me some spices that I couldn't find here. From that time being, I learned how to cook Indonesian food for everyday meal. Thank God, my husband doesn't have problems with that. He is my loyal customer and he encourages me to cook more. So far he loves all my creations in our kitchen, as long as they are not too spicy.

Since then I've posted all my recipes in my blog. I wanted to share my passion with others, especially who also have a same problem as I do -  living abroad with lack of Indonesian spices. I want to help them to make Indonesian meals with some modification if some ingredients are unavailable.

The more I learned, the more recipes I have in my blog, until one day we came up with the idea to share all my recipes in a specific website with the language that all people around the world will understand. The only problems are  :

* I have no idea how to build a website because I have no technical skills about computer language.

* If I hire someone to build a website for me it will be expensive and I have no money for that.

There are many offers how to build the website and makes money from the internet. Some even a scam. I didn't know which is the best one. Until one day a relative from my husband told me about Site Build It and he decided to purchase it for us as a wedding present. I spent days, learning step by step through the days concept from SBI until finally tasty-indonesian-food was birth.  SBI is really good for a beginner like me. You don't need to know all those complicated computer language and can build your blog easily with 'block to block' builder from SBI.

I share you this because you probaby have knowledge or experience that you would like to share with others through a website. SBI provide the solution for you.

You can go to the SBI site here to check it out.

Or you can take the quick tour here.

If you are a housewife and spend almost all your time at home like I do, and want to create a part-time income from home, you will want to read this.

All the best and good luck!

Tatie
