Most Indonesians like spicy food, so sambal is an essensial part of the daily meals Sambal is a condiment used in Indonesia, made from a variety of peppers, although chili peppers are the most common and sometimes it's substituted for fresh chilis; it can be very hot for the uninitiated. There are a number of varieties which are popular in Indonesia. Here's I share some of the recipes.
