Indonesian Food reflects the vast variety of people that live on the 6,000 populated islands that make up Indonesia. It is as diverse as Indonesian culture, and has taken on culinary influences from many sources. It varies by region and is based on Chinese, European, Middle Eastern, and Indian precedents. That is why Indonesian Food is rich in flavours and scents, very delicious and could really blow your mind away!

Being an Indonesian living abroad, one thing that always comes as an issue is the food. I never got used to western meals. For me, something is missing. Yes, the chillies!!! I can't leave without them!! Indonesian food is known as spicy, yet delicious and rich of herbs and spices. And since I live in Slovenia, I have to do the entire cooking by myself to fulfil my desire due to the lack of Indonesian spices.

Fortunately, I somehow manage to do it with some modifications. And good thing is my hubby that is a westerner, likes what I make, as long as it's not spicy. Yes!! For him, I have to make a separate chilli sauce. Here I will share all about Indonesian food, including the recipes that I've made and tested. You can also find some speciality from different places in Indonesia.
